David Seitz, Writer

David Seitz is a student at Macalester College in St. Paul, studying political science, gender studies and American studies. As a writer, activist and student, he is interested in anti-racist, feminist, and queer approaches to community journalism, politics, spirituality and social geography.

David is a Point Foundation scholar, and edits opinions for the Mac Weekly. As a Chuck Green Civic Engagement fellow, he is partnering with the faith branch of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force on a video concerning coalitional organizing around sexuality, race, and spirituality.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, David got his start in journalistic writing at the Wauwatosa East High School Cardinal News, and a stint on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board’s reader advisory committee. He is invested in the practice of journalism as advocacy, and excited to learn from the activist journalists at the Daily Planet.
