Travel Program: Berlin & Eastern Germany
Hostelling International Presents Free Travel Program in St. Paul; Open to Public
Best known for the Berlin Wall and its darker days during the Cold War, Berlin is a city of change and development…for the better. Join Hostelling International-Minnesota for its May Travelers Circle to learn more about Berlin, along with the area formerly known as Eastern Germany, and to hear why this city is on the cutting edge of cultural trends.
The Travelers Circle is a free program and discussion, open to the public. It’s taking place Thursday, May 15, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Hostelling International Minnesota Council office, 622 Selby Avenue, St. Paul (above the Mississippi Market Co-op at Selby & Dale).
This month’s speaker, Steve Tetrick, has been traveling to Europe for more than 30 years, and has visited Berlin on both sides of its Wall days…before and after. Each time he visits Europe, he tries to visit some of his favorite places, like Berlin and Stockholm, but also tries to sprinkle in some new places as well. Participants at the Travelers Circle will learn more about the basics of visiting Germany along with the insight that only a seasoned traveler can bring to the table.
About Travelers Circles: These lively events are held every third Thursday of the month and focus on a different destination or travel topic each time. They are free, open to the public and discussion is encouraged!
About HI-Minnesota: The Minnesota Council of Hostelling International USA is a 501©(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting international travel and cultural exchange.
