Event Description: 

The Selby Ave JazzFest is a free community-oriented event featuring lively jazz music, great food, local retail from artists and businesses, and fun family activities.

This year’s line-up includes: Jason “Malletman” Taylor, Dick & Jane’s Big Brass Band, Walker West Music Academy, Wenso Ashby & Zsamé Morgan, Mikhalized, Yohannes Tona, The John Raymond Project, and Salsa Del Soul.

"MALLETMAN" AS THE HEADLINER

This years Selby Avenue Jazz Festival event will be an historical one. Jason “Malletman” Taylor is the recording-artist that brings LIONEL HAMPTON back to life. This is a must see performance for all music lovers around the world.

Saturday is School Choice Day in both Minneapolis and St. Paul. If you’re the parent of a student, you have the opportunity to send your child to either the public school in your neighborhood or a magnet school. You also have the opportunity to send your child to a charter or a private school. Way to bounce back! The Twin Cities seem to have easily shaken off their holiday lethargy just in time for a pretty rockin’ weekend. Art exhibits, which have been on holiday hiatus as of late, are back in full effect; while rock shows and dance parties continue to ignite flames all over town. Our suggestion? Go out on the prowl!
