Opening reception and artist's talk: The Disappeared

04/04/2013 - 5:30pm - 7:00pm

Join World Without Genocide for an opening reception and artist’s talk for the exhibit, ‘The Disappeared.’ In Argentina’s capital city in 2005, photographer Sylvia Horwitz encountered the group of activist women who have been part of weekly protest marches in Plaza de Mayo for 30 years. These ‘Mothers of the Disappeared’ are the mothers of the children who were made to disappear during the military dictatorship (1976-83). These mothers of the disappeared maintain remembrance with a constant fight for truth and justice. Others are still searching for their grandchildren who were born in captivity.

Photographer Sylvia Horwitz will present her exhibit, highlighting the Argentine Mothers of the Disappeared.

The reception is free and open to the public, no reservations are necessary.  Hors d’oeuvres, wine, and soft drinks will be provided. Event will be held in the Gallery at William Mitchell College of Law
